Your wedding day is over, the honeymoon was amazing!!! Now, in the words of Soul II Soul it’s “back to life, back to reality” and you have a million people to thank… welcome to wedding card Thank You nightmare!
In the first place, the Thank You cards are often the most laborious wedding task ever. Especially since you need to make sure you have all of the right names and gifts and then there’s the bridal party, ushers and other helpers to thank.
In general, a better thank-you note is considered sincere, unique, and heartfelt. Better thank-you note writing will become easier with practice. Therefore, the more notes you write, the more natural they will become.
Handwritten Thank You Cards.
Having pre-printed Thank You cards is becoming the norm these days but we recommend handwriting! That’s right!
Anything handwritten will usually stand out as most people acknowledge the extra time and effort that goes into writing the note.
Don’t Start Your Note With “Thank You”
Everyone seems to start with the conventional “Thank You” and then the gift received. However, if you want your note to stand out and try these unique wordings:
Example #1:
We enjoyed you being a part of our joy in such a special way.
Example #2:
Our sincerest thanks for all your good wishes and very lovely gift.
Example #3:
We were incredibly touched to see you at the wedding. Thank you so much for the gorgeous gift.
Example #4:
You are always so thoughtful and generous. Your wedding gift was certainly unique. Thank You.
Be Specific
Furthermore, within your note, include why or for what you are thanking the person. Stating the gift will help the personalize note and not make it generic.
If you can’t recall what someone gave you, you could admit it in the note. You can also just compliment the person or mention something else about your relationship.
Spelling
Finally, double-check your spelling, then have your partner re-read it again before both of you sign the card.
Use a tool like Grammarly to check your grammar and spelling. This method will require you to write the note on a computer first and then copy it to the Thank You card.
