6 Insider Tricks For Getting Ready On Your Wedding Day.

Getting ready on your wedding day will be one of the most exciting moments of your life. You’ve potentially imagined it your entire life.

The mix of emotions, butterflies, nerves, excitement, and giddiness is second to none. Furthermore, this day will absolutely fly by and before you know it, the day is over. So, we’ve put together 6 insider tricks for getting ready on your wedding day and how to make it memorable:

1. DON’T STRESS

This is the #1 thing that most couples forget, which leads to all sorts of problems. If you can, hire an event coordinator or a day-of wedding planner. This will immediately relieve your stress.

Remember this is your time to relax and enjoy. As I tell my clients, the train has already pulled out of the station and approaching its final destination – there’s not m much else YOU can do!

2. HAVE A TIMELINE

The most important thing is that couples get the most out of their wedding day and with a timeline, you’re better able to steer away from added stress or missed moments.

Having a wedding planner, who will create this for you, will keep everybody on the same train track. Therefore, share the day-of timeline with all of your vendors (photographer, DJ/entertainment, florist, hair and make-up, facility/caterer, etc) and make sure they all have a digital copy (via email) and a hard copy (printed).

3. PLAY THAT WEDDING DAY PLAYLIST

As your BIG day gets closer put together a playlist of your favorite songs that your wedding party would enjoy as your getting ready. Many of my clients like to use Spotify or Apple Music. You can have it wedding-themed if you like, but whatever you choose make sure these songs motivate you AND your wedding party.

Is there anything happier than imagining you and your ladies dancing together while getting pampered?

4. POP, THAT CHAMPAGNE!

Yeah!! Let it flow… Not just the music but the bubbly!! The fact that it’s your wedding day makes the pop of a champagne cork one of the most glorious sounds you will ever hear.

Buy a case of champagne and provide it for the wedding party or ask the wedding party to bring a bottle of their favorite bubbly or juice of their choice for the morning of the wedding. Your wedding party will love you and you’ll set the tone for the rest of the day but don’t drink too much!

5. TAKE A MOMENT FOR YOURSELF

Close your eyes and take a moment to drift away. Either with or without your partner remember to take time for yourself.

Think about your parents and in-laws who helped you make it all happen. Also, think of family members or friends, no longer with us or can’t make it to your special day. This is a vital moment of reflection to remind you that you are not alone today.

6. REMEMBER TO EAT

Really, you’ll have to remind yourself! Hopefully, you’ll be enjoying the day so much that you’ll forget to eat…. but don’t forget!

With the amount of alcohol floating around, you don’t want to drink too much and get sick on an empty stomach. It’s not a pretty sight and one you’ll not want to share on your wedding day. So, eat plenty and drink moderately. For those hot summer wedding days, also drink plenty of water.
