5 Ways Weddings MAY Look Different After The CoronaVirus Lockdown.

Here’s our crystal ball look into the future of what weddings MAY look like after the CoronaVirus lockdown.

As a wedding professional I always think about how to make your wedding events joyful, romantic and now safer. In as much as we know, life will never be like it was and in the next few months, we know that weddings, after the CoronaVirus lockdown restrictions are lifted, will look somewhat different. Of course, much depends on the CDC guidelines and State and Local Government regulations and restrictions, but here’s what we see:

Buffet

Those long lines of food on a table with guests selecting their food, may not exist anymore. Maybe, after the CoronaVirus lockdown, small buffet stations with a chef or server, with gloves, and face masks on during serving, will be the norm.

Smaller groups of guests will gather at each food station. Therefore, gone will be the mad rush when the buffet table opens. Many banquet facilities already offer somewhat similar food stations concept, so ask your venue for details.

Dessert

The traditional Cake Cutting Ceremony may still exist but that won’t be the cake that is served to your guests. So, after the CoronaVirus lockdown, the wedding cake will be sliced and served to each guest, rather than guests taking a plate from a communal table.

Also, those huge elaborate self-serve dessert tables of cookies, cupcakes, and candy will be replaced with individually wrapped and packaged items served one-by-one to seated guests.

Toasts and Speeches

The Best Man and Maid of Honor Toasts and Father of The Bride Speeches, will probably still exist. But, after the CoronaVirus lockdown, everyone may not use the same handheld wireless microphone.

Expect, speeches without a microphone or that microphone on a stand next to the head-table or sweetheart table, whereupon any speaking will stand. The microphone would then be removed and sterilized before further use.

Introductions

Once again, traditional introductions may still be down but only of the couple. So, after the CoronaVirus lockdown, the Parents, Grandparents and Wedding Party, may be introduced from their seats.

No longer, will you have a huge group of people gathered in a small confined room or hallway to go over names to organize for formal introductions. Atmosphere Productions already have some creative ways to introduce your wedding partycontact us for details.

Dancing

This is the purple elephant in the room…. will guests want to dance. Rest assured, after the CoronaVirus lockdown, your guests WILL want to dance and celebrate, but it may be in a different way. Larger dance floors will enable social distancing.

Maybe, seating will be arranged so that you dance next to your tables or different areas throughout the venue featuring different styles of music. Something like, a saxophonist in one room, a violinist in another, a remote system just playing love songs and in the main ballroom dance music.

Couples may opt for a more subdued dinner party atmosphere. Maybe, a longer dinner period, with toasts and speeches throughout with special dances and songs interspersed that reflect the couples unique style.
