12 Must-do Tips For Your Outdoor Wedding.

Planning an outdoor wedding can be both exciting and stressful. Therefore, knowing how to delegate certain tasks and finding cost-effective ways, will save you lots of time, effort, and money.

Here are some tips on how to pull it off without reducing the overall beauty and essence of your big day.

Choose a Wedding Planner

You can take an easier, stress-free, but more expensive path, by hiring a professional wedding planner. Remember, you must allocate enough dollars in your budget for a good quality professional wedding planner.  Someone who has experience with outdoor weddings is essential.

Social Distancing

Depending on your current local regulations, a micro wedding or mini wedding may be appropriate.  Essentially, a small outdoor wedding with just close family of maybe 8-12 guests.

Back-up Plan

It’s necessary to have a backup plan.  Furthermore, no matter how well-prepared you may be, having an alternative indoor location will ensure that you get married regardless of drastic weather changes.

8 QUESTIONS YOU MUST ASK A WEDDING PROFESSIONAL

One-And-Done

Park, backyard, or beach, the location must accommodate both the ceremony and the reception.  This is convenient for the guests.  Plus, the wedding party won’t have to travel from the ceremony location to the photoshoot location and then finally to the reception venue.

Consider Lighting

A daytime ceremony and reception may not be a problem, but a sunset ceremony and reception will require some thought.  Be creative and consider outdoor lighting to enhance your setting.

Make It Comfortable

Many outdoor seats are wrought iron or wood. This can get uncomfortable if you’re sitting on them for long periods of time for the ceremony and reception. So, add pillows. They’ll add an extra decorative touch and your guests will appreciate it.

Hydration Station

Offer ample options for ice cold hydration for a summer outdoor wedding.  Custom water bottles with the couple names is nice touch.  In the cooler months, tea and coffee or an alcoholic option works best.

Snack Station

Be sure to have snacks and water for the bridesmaids, ushers, and groomsmen. Between hair, makeup, and photos, your bridesmaids don’t have much time to drink water and eat. You don’t want anyone fainting on you, so plan a short break before showtime.

Port-A-Potties

This is a MUST HAVE!! Consequentially, it’s one of the most forgotten items on everyone’s outdoor wedding checklist. We don’t recommend the standard port-a-potties. Pretty Potties are ideal for weddings or any outdoor event where you want to provide your guests with a unique and tasteful alternative to the common portable toilet.

Insect repellent

One of the most overlooked items at an outdoor wedding is insect repellant. Stock up on bug spray.

Spring and Fall Weddings

Even during the cooler months, you still have to be practical when considering your outdoor wedding.  Provide blankets or wraps if it’s going to be cold or breezy.  Remind guests to bring a coat because your wedding will be outside.  Most guests assume that in cooler months, your event will be inside.

Don’t Forget Sound

Your ceremony and reception mean nothing if no one hears you.  Have sufficient in your budget for ceremony sound, so that your vows will be heard.

It’s also essential that an outdoor wedding reception have ample sound to cover a wide area. Toast, speeches, music, and dancing all require some expertise in sound reinforcement, so work out these details in advance with your entertainment.
