Thanks again, Joe for watching and listening to the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

Elizabeth: Check out these wedding hacks.

DJ Sam: We recommend that before the actual wedding day, you get together with your wedding party, your officiant, or whoever’s going to be there on the day during the ceremony. And the reason for that is that’s how you’re going to get your clear communication from the officiant. Where to stand, where to go, what queue you need to move, and that’s where the clear communication from the officiant will come in because the officiants very important on that day.

DJ Sal: [00:03:00] By being part of the rehearsal, you get to know everyone. They get to know you a little bit, and then just guiding them through every step of the way and how this ceremony is going to play out. And you can’t just do it once, you have to practice it a few times. So it gets committed to memory. So it’s very important to make sure whoever’s gonna be part of this, you gotta have everyone there.

It’s just so important to have everyone there, so everyone understands what their place is and what they’re doing.

Ashlee: And for more free tips, make sure to listen every Wednesday to the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

DJ Sam: Here’s a pro tip for you. The popularity of the Bouquet and Garter tradition in recent years has really declined. So why do it? Just keep having fun. Keep that dance music going, and having a great time with your family and friends. That’s what they came to your wedding for, to have a great time with the two of you.

So our eight alternatives are skipping the Bouquet and Garter toss altogether. Play musical chairs. Give the gift of the [00:04:00] bouquet to an engaged couple. Do a charity auction. Do a couple’s dance off. You can also do a ladies-only dance, and you can also do a giveaway of the bouquet. And the number one is the Anniversary Celebration Dance.

Ashlee: And for more free tips, make sure to listen every Wednesday to the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

DJ Sam: And now here’s a pro tip for you. How do you make that all-important formal introduction, either at the ceremony or the reception, if you are not taking your spouse’s last name? This is very common in Canada, the UK, and parts of Europe, because they’re not changing their last names.

DJ Sal: What’s becoming more common as of late is, couples get into the point of the kiss of the ceremony and not being introduced at all.

That music comes on for the recessional right away and they walk right back up that aisle. So that’s another simple way of kind of [00:05:00] deflecting that whole last name thing.

Ashlee: And for more free tips, make sure to listen every Wednesday to the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

JR: You are not the same as the person next to you. You dress to reflect your personality. You enjoy customizing your drink at the coffee shop. Even your pet’s collars match at least two pairs of your pants. It’s only natural that your wedding would showcase your unique touch. After Hours Events of New England gets this. DJ Sam: And now back to our Wedding Pro Tip special, Revolutionize Your Big Day With Our Stunning Wedding Hacks.

DJ Sal: And now here’s a Pro tip for you.

DJ Sam: Let’s talk about how and when to tip. Timing is the key when it comes to tipping. You don’t have to be scrambling around for a bag of cash or gold or Bitcoin. So here’s what we recommend. You can tip some of the vendors in advance, especially those who won’t be present on the day. Think about your florist and your baker.

DJ Sal: The next best time is during the wedding, assign a trusted friend or family member, or even your wedding coordinator to distribute tips and envelopes that are sealed, and labeled. I’m a big fan of you giving this to your wedding coordinator because sometimes when you give it to friends or family, they may forget, and if they had [00:07:00] a couple drinks, they’re totally gonna forget, and it just becomes a bad scene later when the couple has to reach out to everyone to give the tips later.

This is the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast with Sal and Sam.

Ashlee: Here’s a Pro Tip for you. The first five things to do after you get engaged. Number one, so important. Celebrate! Enjoy the moment! Don’t rush into things right away. Take it all in. Talk about your vision. This is very important that you both talk about your vision so you know what direction you want to go in, and here’s a biggie. Set the budget. You need to have an idea of what you’re able to spend so you can plan accordingly. And of course, drafting that guest list so you can figure out what size of a facility you need. And this is also gonna cut down on the number of the facilities you’re gonna look at because you’re gonna be looking at a facility that fits your number of guests. And of course, pick your top three priorities. What’s most important to you? Is it the photos? Is it the food? Is it the [00:08:00] great dj? Whatever it may be, you need to figure it out. Do those five things, and you’re off to a rock solid. stress-free start.

DJ Sam: Just remember, this is your engagement, your wedding, your journey. There’s no perfect way to do it. These five steps are just there to give you a foundation. So don’t feel lost in the chaos. It’s easy to get caught up in Pinterest boards and other people’s opinions, but the most important thing is focus in on what’s right for you.

Ashlee: For more free tips, make sure to listen every Wednesday for the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

DJ Sal: Now, here’s a Pro Tip.

DJ Sam: Allow us to help you from stress to success. Insider tips on finding your ideal wedding vendors.

DJ Sal: Pay attention to how they communicate. If it takes them days to get back to you, imagine what it’s gonna be like two weeks before your wedding. You don’t wanna have to worry about things like that.

DJ Sam: They should be able to put everything down in a contract so that you can [00:09:00] see precisely how your budget’s gonna be hit by this particular vendor. That’s very important.

Ashlee: For more free tips, make sure to listen every Wednesday for the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

And now back to the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

DJ Sam: Today’s special edition features [00:12:00] our Wedding Pro Tips. Let’s revolutionize your big day with our stunning wedding hacks. I’m Sam from Atmosphere Productions.

DJ Sal: I’m Sal from After Hours Events of New England.

We’ve already discussed why it’s important to tip your wedding vendors for doing an exceptional job for you. We explain why it’s crucial to do a wedding ceremony rehearsal, and the five most important things to do after you get engaged.

DJ Sam: Now more Wedding Pro Tips. Let’s Revolutionize Your Big Day With Our Stunning Wedding Hacks.

DJ Sal: It is pro Tip time.

DJ Sam: Today’s hot topic kids or no kids at your wedding. This one stirs up a lot of opinions, some good, some bad.

DJ Sal: Now, if you’re going all in with a kid-friendly wedding, awesome! Let’s talk about how to make that work smoothly. Start with logistics. You’ll want a plan. Plan for these things such as kids’ meals, I think chicken fingers, or mac and cheese.

DJ Sam: You [00:13:00] might also want to hire a babysitter or two for the night.

DJ Sal: A kid-friendly space with activities, coloring books, puzzles.

DJ Sam: We’ve even seen couples set up an entire room with bean bags, tablets, snacks. This is really a game-changer. This is planning ahead.

DJ Sal: Final thoughts. Make a decision based on what feels right for you, not what others expect. Communicate it clearly. Be consistent, and stand by it with confidence. Stay calm, plan on, and remember, it’s your day your way.

Ashlee: For more free tips, make sure to listen every Wednesday for the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

DJ Sam: And now it’s Pro Tip time. Wait until you receive your new Social Security card before updating other documents to avoid mismatches.

DJ Sal: Yeah, your Social Security card is the key to changing everything. If it’s not right [00:14:00] there, you can’t do anything else. So that’s really the first step that you need to make.

And the next step is your driver’s license or your State I.D. You need to have that Social Security card and that Marriage Certificate to get an updated card. Either be your license or your State ID.

Ashlee: For more free tips make sure to listen every Wednesday for the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

Destination Weddings Unlimited. Online at Destination Weddings Unlimited dot com.

DJ Sal: And now back to our Wedding Pro Tips special Revolutionize Your Big Day With Our Stunning [00:15:00] Wedding Hacks.

DJ Sam: And now we have a Pro Tip for you.

DJ Sal: Obtaining certified copies or copy of your Marriage Certificate. You’re finding town halls, at least in our state here in Connecticut, are trying to sell multiple copies of your certificate. Do you really need them? In my opinion, you do not. They will tell you, they highly suggest it. And for the reason is, ladies, if you’re changing your name, hey, you have to change your name on your driver’s license. You have to change your name on your Social Security. But the thing is, you don’t have to relinquish your certificate to do any of that. Those are two things you are doing in person, and you would actually show them the certificate, and they will make a copy for their records.

So there’s no reason for having multiple copies. But please make sure you have this paperwork when you start the name changing process ’cause it will be very important.

Ashlee: For more free tips, make sure to listen every Wednesday for the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

DJ Sal: [00:16:00] It is Pro Tip time. Here’s some tips on how to navigate wedding day conflicts with love and grace.

DJ Sam: Number one, plan together and present a united front. Two. Don’t try to solve all family conflicts before the wedding day. Be realistic. Some tension is unavoidable. Focus on what you can control. Number four, use humor when appropriate to diffuse tense moments.

Five. Celebrate the people who are loving and supportive, regardless of others’ attitudes. And finally, take care of yourself mentally and physically. It’s important.

DJ Sal: And remember why. At the heart of the wedding is your commitment to each other. Remind yourselves of this frequently.

DJ Sam: At the end of the day, it’s the two of you that are getting married.

Ashlee: For more free tips make sure to listen every Wednesday for the latest edition of the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Podcast.

DJ Sam: And now here’s another Wedding Tip Wednesday. Learn to laugh together. Find humor in everything. Yes, you can laugh at each other. If you can laugh together, even during the tough times, you’ll be unstoppable. Unless it’s during a serious movie marathon, then all bets are off!

DJ Sal: Seriously, not so serious! Laughter can be the best medicine to get you through stressful times, but of course, [00:03:00] beer and wine, and margaritas can’t hurt. And that’s another wedding tip from Sal and Sam.

DJ Sal: On today’s Wedding Tip Wednesday, we talk about exploring marriage license requirements. Every state has different requirements, so keep in mind, you should call the town hall in your town and find out what the rules and regulations are. Do you have to call ahead of time to set up an appointment to go get your license, or do you have to go to a specific town? Like in Connecticut, you have to go in the town of which you’re getting married. Where in Massachusetts you could buy it from any town get married in any town in Massachusetts. As simple as that.

DJ Sam: And that’s another wedding tip from Sal and Sam.

JR: This is the Stress-free Wedding Planning Podcast with Sal and Sam.

DJ Sal: Well, everyone, [00:04:00] it’s Wedding Tip Wednesday, where we share essential tips that help you craft a wedding of your dreams. Remember, a good marriage is one where each partner secretly suspects they got the better deal.

DJ Sam: That is so true. On today’s Wedding Tip Wednesday, allot time for transportation. Here’s what we mean. Shuttles are slower due to their size and requiring extra time for loading and unloading. So allocate five to 10 minutes for this process and add five to the estimated drive time. To improve accuracy, driving that exact route during the expected timeframe to account for realistic traffic patterns and whatever else may be going on that day.

DJ Sal: And that’s another tip from Sal and Sam.

Adam: Wedding Tip Wednesday is available on the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Facebook group page every Wednesday. Join the group for free.

DJ Sam: And now back to our Wedding Tip Wednesday special, our Top 10 Insider Wedding Tips For A Day To Remember.

DJ Sal: Now, Wedding [00:06:00] Tip Wednesday. But first, some marriage advice. Always answer the question, “do I look fat in this with “You Look perfect!”

DJ Sam: Ha-ha! Absolutely true. Very tricky question. On today’s Wedding Tip Wednesday. Stop halfway down the aisle. What do I mean? After the ceremony, when you are walking back down the aisle, it’s called the recessional. Stop halfway down the aisle and kiss! This is another great moment for your photographer to take a picture and a chance for you to dip your partner and wow your guests.

DJ Sal: That’s another wedding tip from Sal and Sam.

Adam: Wedding Tip Wednesday is available on the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Facebook group page every Wednesday. Join the group for free.

DJ Sam: It is Wedding Tip Wednesday time. Today’s wedding tip: look at each other.

DJ Sal: This is very important. You should be looking at each other, especially during your vows, your ring vows, and just through the ceremony, in general, so everyone else becomes [00:07:00] invisible and it’s all about you. So please don’t look over at the officiant, don’t look over at your guests. Concentrate on one another.

DJ Sam: And that’s another wedding Tip from Sal and Sam.

DJ Sal: It is time for Wedding Tip Wednesday, but first, some relationship advice from a man with experience. Arguments in marriage are inevitable, but the way to win it, be naked! That’s what I do!

DJ Sam: Oh, Sal, you get me every time! On today’s Wedding Tip Wednesday. On wedding day, create a “no phone zone”. This is for the guys in the wedding party.

If you have a new picture taken, which all of you will be, your phone has no place on your body. Front pocket, back pocket, in your breast pocket, they will all show in the pictures. So leave your phone in the groom’s suite, with your plus-one, partner, or spouse.

DJ Sal: And that’s another wedding tip from Sal and Sam.

Adam: Wedding Tip Wednesday is available on the Stress-Free Wedding Planning [00:08:00] Facebook group page every Wednesday. Join the group for free.

DJ Sam: Today’s special edition features our Top 10 Insider Wedding Tips For A Day To Remember. It’s our ongoing [00:10:00] series featuring our best of this year’s Wedding Tip Wednesdays. I’m Sam from Atmosphere Productions.

DJ Sal: I’m Sal from after hours events of New England.

We’ve already discussed why it’s important to look at each other during the ceremony. We explained the groomsmens’ “no phone zone” and it’s so important to learn how to laugh on your wedding day.

DJ Sam: Now more essential wedding tips from our Wedding Tip Wednesday segment.

Sal: Well, everyone, it’s Wedding Tip Wednesday, where we share essential tips that help you craft the wedding of your dreams.

DJ Sam: On today’s Wedding Tip Wednesday, we’re talking about the bustle. Now the bustle is the cloth that trails the dress that usually can be folded up into the back of the dress. Well, you have to figure out how to do this. Bring someone with you to your dress fitting and have them record that on their phone, on how to bustle the dress, [00:11:00] how it’s all put together. Furthermore, reveal and practice before the day with the people who will actually be helping you with that bustle.

DJ Sal: This is a tip I always talk to every single couple about. I always say the bride bring two people with you and actually have the dress maker teach them how to bustle there and have them do it a couple times, so they get a little muscle memory.

And you definitely wanna video record this too. By doing this there’s less stress when it comes to the day, and it’s so much quicker. And a words are wise. Stay away from ribbons. They only take more time, and they’re really confusing. Buttons and hooks are the way to go. And that’s another tip from Sal and Sam.

Adam: Wedding Tip Wednesday is available on the Stress-Free Wedding Planning Facebook group page every Wednesday. Join the group for free.

JR: This is the Stress-free Wedding Planning Podcast with Sal and Sam.

DJ Sal: It is Wedding Tip Wednesday time. But first, love is blind, but marriage is an eye-opener.

DJ Sam: Truer words have never been [00:12:00] said, Sal. Thank you. On today’s Wedding Tip Wednesday, unforeseen costs is our subject. It’s important to reserve an additional five to 10% of your budget for these unforeseen costs, like printing for extra invitations due to errors. Additional tailoring requirements, transportation at the end of the evening, or umbrellas for an unexpected rain shower.

DJ Sal: So remember to leave some room in your wallet. And that’s another wedding tip from Sal and Sam.

Heidi: Heidi Hanson Photography. Fun, happy, a little unorthodox, sometimes silly, with lots of candids. Hi, this is Heidi from Heidi Hanson Photography, www.heidihansonphotography.com. I like being goofy with my couples, making them laugh, and overall just having a blast on their wedding day. Every wedding day is different, and that is what keeps my job super awesome. I service Connecticut and New York. You can find me on www.heidihansonphotography.com and also on social media.

DJ Sal (2): Now more essential wedding tips from our Wedding Tip Wednesday segment.

DJ Sam: On today’s Wedding [00:13:00] Tip Wednesday, it’s wedding mistake number 622. Trying to please everyone. Your friends and family are more than happy to tell you what they would want and what you should be doing on your special day.

DJ Sal (2): It’s an effort doomed to failure.

DJ Sam: Please, please, please make sure you make yourself happy. Just being prepared is the best way to avoid a wedding disaster.

DJ Sal: And that’s another wedding Tip from Sal and Sam.

On your wedding day, a longer more passionate kiss can create a memorable moment and offer photographers great opportunities for capturing that emotion. Yes, you should enjoy kissing on your wedding day. Aim for a kiss that lasts at least a few seconds, not just a quick peck; this ensures great photos. Your photographers will love you.
