Should I go with a cocktail or traditional wedding reception? So what’s the difference? For instance, a cocktail reception is very relaxed and your guests typically eat hors d’oeuvres and finger foods throughout the reception. However, a traditional reception is more formal and your guests have designated seating and are served plated meals or help themselves to a buffet.
With this in mind, it depends on the type and feel of the wedding reception you want to have. Consequently, it’s you and your partner’s choice, and no matter what, it will be a beautiful day.
