5 Tips For Selecting Your Wedding Filmmaker.
Your wedding filmmaker truly captures the spirit and magic of your big day in living sound and color.
And so, with advancements in digital technology, the quality of the wedding filmmaker video has improved dramatically over the last few years. Most wedding filmmakers now shoot with small, discreet digital video cameras.
So what do you look for? We asked Rachel from Olive Ewe Productions to give us 5 Tips For Selecting Your Wedding Filmmaker:
See Their Work
Look I get it, there’s a billion and one things to consider when planning your wedding. Sometimes the last thing you want to do is make another decision.
But trust me when I say its worth it to make a careful decision for the things that will last long past your actual date. That is also one of the greatest parts about planning a wedding!
Rarely in our lives does an occasion hold such importance that it justifies us to be so intentional with our choices. Choosing your videographer should be made with as much intention and meaning as you give to the rest of your day, since their images will linger longer after the day is done.
So, be sure to watch examples of a videographer’s work that you are considering with your fiance. Therefore, both of you should come to a decision together. Much like most things in your life together! Its okay if one of you does the legwork, but you should agree that you enjoy certain aspects of a videographer’s work.

Compare
Watching a videographer’s work and comparing it with others goes hand in hand. And I am not talking about comparing prices here. I am talking about comparing the styles of their videos.
How long are the videos? Do you like the colors that you see? How do you feel when you watch a few of their examples? As a result, this will help you both discover your likes and dislikes and make your decision more informed.
Listen
The defining trait between video and photo is the ability to capture audio in a video. As a result, consider that clear and easy to understand audio should be 50% of a video.
Are you able to clearly hear vows, speeches, and other moments captured throughout a wedding day?
A video that is only music can be beautiful, but is that how you want to remember your day forever?

Key Moments
Not all offerings are equal. For this reason, be sure to ask what all is included in a package you are considering.
Does your videographer record the full ceremony and the key moments of your reception? Is an edit of those moments included in the package? If not, how much additional is it?
Personality
Is your vendor personable? You will likely be spending a bit of time with your photographers and videographers while you get ready the morning of your wedding. It’s important that your vendor makes your feel comfortable and will conduct themselves in a professional and unobtrusive manor.
This is actually a great tip in general when selecting your vendors! They will all be a part of your day in some way, and finding someone who delivers a service that you enjoy AND has a personality that jives with yours is the key to any happy vendor relationship.
